Berlin, Sunday, March 18th, 2018
Konzerthaus Berlin, Berlin-Mitte, Werner Otto Hall
focused XIX - Asian Groove
From the beginning, the AsianArt Ensemble has been wanting to prove that a pulsating rhythm - if it is varied - is not necessarily primitive. Nonetheless, until now, there were only few composers, who addressed this topic. There seemed to be a contradiction between “groove” and high quality music in the Western world. Fortunately, the younger generation is overcoming this reluctance, whereby we now have enough new works with this focus, resulting in a varied view on this neglected segment of New Music.
